Global Routing determines how traffic is handled
Start by checking Global Routing in Home. Config routes traffic according to the rules in the current configuration; Proxy handles requests through a proxy, while Direct connects without one. These options serve different purposes, not different connection-quality levels. To use rules, select Config, then open Config and verify that the relevant file is enabled. Rules are usually matched from top to bottom, so place specific domain rules before fallback entries. The example below demonstrates syntax only; it is not a complete file to replace your configuration. After making changes, test both the target site and everyday direct requests.

On Demand controls automatic connections
On Demand starts connections when specified conditions are met. Set it up only after you’ve verified that a manual connection works. Open Settings and check On Demand, taking your current network and system VPN settings into account. If the connection starts again after you turn it off manually, check the on-demand conditions before deleting a server. To troubleshoot, temporarily disable the relevant conditions, switch networks, and see whether the connection still starts automatically. Once you identify the cause, restore the settings you need. On-demand triggers control when a connection starts; they cannot supply missing server details or fix invalid credentials.

Choose the right Type in Add Server
In Add Server, Type determines which fields you need to fill in. Shadowsocks, VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Hysteria2, and WireGuard use different parameters, so copying only Host and Port does not make a configuration complete. Check each field against the server details you already have, and keep the original values for encryption, authentication, and transport settings. Choose the matching type for HTTP or SOCKS5 as well. A protocol name alone does not guarantee that a server is reachable. After saving, select the server, run a connection test, and use any error message to identify which fields to check.

Import existing Subscribe details
Get your subscription link from your service provider. Before importing it, make sure you copied the entire link, including all characters, with no extra spaces or line breaks. After importing, check that the group appears in Home, then select the server you want to use. Updating a subscription refreshes server details; it is not the same as the routing rules in Config. If the list changes after an update, check the subscription response and account status instead of adding it repeatedly. Subscription links often contain credentials. Hide the full address before sharing screenshots or diagnostic records to keep your subscription details private.

Server details and Config files serve different purposes
Server details specify where to connect; a Config file specifies how requests are handled. In Config, first check which file is selected, then review sections such as General, Rule, and Hosts. Don’t combine complete configurations from different sources. Keep a working copy before making changes, then retest the same destination to compare results. If you use iCloud sync, check both your device’s iCloud status and the sync options in the app. Sync does not restore purchases or guarantee that another device has automatically selected the same configuration, so verify each setting individually.

Use tests and Data to diagnose issues separately
After connecting, run Connectivity Test, then try the destination you actually need. A test result and whether a particular site works are separate pieces of evidence; the switch at the top alone cannot confirm everything. Data shows changes in traffic and can help confirm whether requests are being made, but it cannot prove by itself that a particular rule matched. For a closer look, open Diagnostics in Settings and note the current network, selected server, and Global Routing mode. Before sharing diagnostic information, remove passwords, subscription links, and other credentials to protect your account.
